Can't seem to find the right nodes

Amazon Seller Topics
I knew of the changes but when adding new items I now can't seem to find the nodes I want. I'm after specific furniture, but I select 'kitchen and home' > 'homeware and furniture' then none of the nodes after fit. There is one labelled simply as 'furniture' and that just brings up 'home entertainment furniture' and 'home office furniture'. I'm currently just selecting 'other' after 'homeware and furniture'.

Is it not complete or am I missing where, say, beds or chairs should go now?

Hi

According to the new Browse Tree Guide you need to drill down and use these maybe?

Browse Node 2850813031 - Home & Garden/Kitchen & Home/Categories/Homeware & Furniture/Furniture/Bedroom Furniture/Beds, Frames & Bases/Bed Bases & Divans

Browse Node 2850814031- Home & Garden/Kitchen & Home/Categories/Homeware & Furniture/Furniture/Bedroom Furniture/Beds, Frames & Bases/Bed Frames

Browse Node 2850834031- Home & Garden/Kitchen & Home/Categories/Homeware & Furniture/Furniture/Bedroom Furniture/Chairs & Stools

Browse Node 2850904031- Home & Garden/Kitchen & Home/Categories/Homeware & Furniture/Furniture/Living Room Furniture/Chairs/Armchairs

Might be best if you download the BTG and find the most appropriate ones, then you know which path you are looking for

I'm not using the inventory loader but adding items and editing directly through the inventory list in seller central. When the window with the nodes pops up it doesn't appear to list those and there's no way of searching, just clicking. I know they're there as my older items have those nodes, but this doesn't display the same things.

Hi

Yes, I've just changed some of mine the way you're doing it. It is only a small pop-up box - you have to keep scrolling down to find the category and keep scrolling right to drill further down. You will find them eventually!

I found it helpful to print out the path so I knew which sub-categories to find and drill into.

I suspect I'm being stupid, but I still can't find it that way.

I'm supposed to be at:
Home & Garden/Home & Garden/Kitchen & Home/Homeware & Furniture/Furniture/Bedroom Furniture/Beds, Frames & Bases/Bed Frames

When I select 'add node', on the little pop up window with classification boxes I manage to get to
Home & Garden/Home & Garden/Kitchen & Home/Homeware & Furniture/Furniture/

But in the next box after it doesn't list Bedroom Furniture, only Home Entertainment Furniture and Home Office Furniture. That's all it displays for me, nothing else to scroll down to and nothing else to go right to.

Hi

OK, add your product via Add a Product and stop when you drill down to Furniture, so just click Furniture as the classification. Add all the other information to complete adding your product. Once you have created your product go back into it and edit, click the node bit, then you can drill down further into the full path such as the examples I gave before.

It's long winded that way - and that's why we tend to use the templates - you just whack in the correct browse node number and it's done in one go!

Good luck

Thank you, but still the same problem unfortunately. I'll contact CS, it might just be for me and it's some kind of a glitch.

Any future uploads I think I'll do from Inventory Loader.

I'm having a very similar problem in that the Node ID for example on All classifications > Clothing > Novelty & Special Use > Wedding Clothing > Other (Wedding Clothing) is exactly the same as All classifications > Clothing > Novelty & Special Use > Wedding Clothing. This means that it's not currently possible to assign products to the other node in a flat file, making it impossible to fix our 2000+ fascinator listings... Sure, I can do this manually via add a product but it takes far too long... very annoying and I'm currently talking to Amazon about the issue. I got the node id from the product classifier (for other category) as it's not on the browse tree guide, and it's exactly the same node ID.

Hi

Same here in the jewellery category - there's a new classification but nothing in the browse tree guide. I contacted CS about this last Friday - they're still looking into it!

I got an answer back from Customer Support about this, but they only said when I go back to edit an item more categories will be displayed, but they are not doing - so I had to reply back saying so. Perhaps I should have sent a screenshot displaying that only two categories show for me, even when editing existing listings? As my only options are home office furniture or home entertainment furniture and those are weird categories to place a dining chair, I'm currently having to leave a few items without categories.

Hi

I WOULD send a screen shot if I were you - they don't always understand the words but a picture should be enough to show them what the issue is

Good luck
Alison

Okay, screenshot sent.

Hmm, okay I just got told

"Please be informed that I have checked your browse nodes and in order you have the pop up window available please be advised to click on "edit" button at the browse node Kitchen & Home > Homeware & Furniture > Furniture > and you will see further options home entertainment furniture and home office furniture and you can select the most appropriate one"

I'm not entirely certain I understand what they're saying but it sounds like they're advising that I can select the most appropriate one of either home entertainment furniture or home office furniture. But neither are appropriate? I need Dining Room Furniture or Bedroom Furniture!
