When you switch holiday on does it also switch FBA stock off.

No.

FBA sales still carry on.

Your messages still come in and require a 24 hour response though. So you might want to create a rule that responds to the @marketplace.amazon.co.uk emails with a nice police out of office notice.

Wow ... you mean you can afford an holiday! ... Not had one for the last 4 years ... what is your secret? Are you printing artificial money.

We're not the police. We're selling stuff. I realise that selling stuff is far more important than solving crime or maintaining law and order, but it's all a matter of perspective.

No, I didn't miss the humour. What I found breathtaking in your comment was the implication that the response service we are expected to provide to buyers should be in any way comparable with that provided by the police and that you actually sought to make that comparison in your humorous remark.

Still looks like you missed it, to me.

I also enjoy the privilege of a holiday and the occasional couple of days away.

I don't however user a message auto reply but take my laptop with me on holiday and actually personally reply to customers messages.
It works well and I usually get some reply apologising for interrupting my holiday and it takes the wind out of anybody's sails who is wanting to complain.

That apart, for the rest of the year I work B....y hard, up until 2am most nights.
Wife constantly complains but she enjoys the breaks away.
It's a mix of work hard and keep the wife happy at the same time enjoying the break myself because I'm not working.

It works for me.

By the way I don't sell books or CD's / DVD's.
